SCOTTISH RITE FOUNDATION OF WYOMING The Foundation is incorporated as a non-profit 501(c) (3) charitable institution under
the laws of Wyoming. It is governed by a board of directors who represent each of the Scottish Rite Valleys located
in Wyoming at Cheyenne, Sheridan and Lander. Directors are elected from the Valleys or may be appointed by the
Deputy of the Supreme Council in Wyoming to provide expert advice and counsel. As an extension of the Scottish Rite Masonic fraternity, the Scottish Rite Foundation
is a fund-raising organization dedicated to providing wherewithal to state-wide philanthropy. Primarily, the function
of the Foundation is to ensure the continuing financial security of the Speech and Language Clinics. While there
are three clinics now, it is the intent of the Rite and the Foundation to make this service available to every
child who can benefit from the expert care we provide. As an adjunct program to the Language clinics, we are working on establishing three $1,000
scholarships to be granted annually to graduate students who major in speech pathology at the University of Wyoming.
Many of these students have served or will serve as interns at our clinics. Masons have a long and distinguished history of patriotism, and the Scottish Rite Foundation
continues that admirable trait and attempts to instill it in our youth in a variety of ways. Reserve Officers Training
Corps (ROTC) programs at the University of Wyoming and four Wyoming High Schools are recognized with awards made
to outstanding cadets. The Floyd Holland Memorial Scholarship provides educational opportunities for many juniors
and seniors at the University of Wyoming. Our magazine, Scottish Rite Foundation Magazine of Freemasonry in Wyoming is published
and mailed three times a year to members of the Cheyenne, Sheridan and Lander Valleys as well as to SR Masons throughout
the country, private and public libraries and a host of community leaders in Wyoming. In keeping with the electronic
age, the Foundation hosts its own and maintains other Masonic web sites. Visit our sites: http://wy-scottishritemasons.org and http://wy-srmason.org The Rite also provides assistance to many other Wyoming charities and participates with
several philanthropic programs, such as our support for the seventh straight year, to the MicroSociety® program
at Tongue River Elementary School in Ranchester, WY and the annual Beat of a Different Drum retreat for families
dealing with Autism held at the HF BAR Ranch in Saddlestring each Fall. There is another way for men to participate in this great philanthropy, and that is through
membership in the Masonic orders, beginning with the Masonic Lodge, then advancing through the 32 degrees of the
Scottish Rite. Masonry is a way of life that makes good men better. For members of the Rite, the Foundation pays
lifetime dues for anyone who makes a contribution of $2000 or more (not tax deductible because of the value received).
That contribution is placed in a permanent endowment fund. No gift is too small and each one is important. Your gift gains impact by being added
to the gifts of others, and is not only an investment in the future, but also an investment in preserving the principles
of Scottish Rite Masonry by supporting educational and charitable projects and endeavors. All contributions are
gratefully received and appreciated. "Lives of great men all remind us we should make our lives sublime, And departing,
leave behind us footprints in the sands of time." ALBERT PIKE SAID: "What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have
done for others and the world remains, and is immortal."
HOW YOU CAN HELP?
Our long-range financial security depends on the generosity of donors. Cash gifts, stocks, bonds, real property
and other tangible assets provide the assurance of our continued success in the free treatment of children who
need it. We encourage everyone to include the Foundation in a will or remember us with a bequest. Memorial gifts
made in the name of someone special will provide a lasting legacy of that individual through the success of the
Foundation and its speech and language clinics.
